What is the Power of God? Who Appoints Manu, Manuputra, the Saptarishi, and the Gods?

Shukdev says – Parikshit! God Himself appoints Manu, Manu's son, the Saptarishi, and the Gods.

Rajan! Manu, etc., run the world system with the inspiration of the Yajnapurusha (Lord Vishnu) and his other incarnations, as I have described.

At the end of Chaturyugi(Cycle of Four Ages), when the Shrutis (scriptures) get destroyed due to the unpleasant circumstances of time, the Saptarishis again encounter them through their penance. Sanatan Dharma is protected only by those verses.

Rajan! Inspired by God, all Manus, in their respective Manvantars, carefully perform the rituals of the four stages of complete religion on earth.

Manuputras (Sons of Manu) divide time and space in a manvantara (a period of rule by a manu) and perform tasks such as protecting the people and upholding religion. The sages, ancestors, ghosts, humans, and others associated with the Panch-Mahayagya and other rituals - the gods associated with them in that manvantara accept the share of the yagya.

Indra enjoys God's immense wealth of realms and cares for the subjects. He also has the right to bring sufficient rain to the world.

From age to age, the Lord teaches knowledge by assuming the form of a Saint, like Sanaka to teach knowledge, and Yagyavalkya to teach actions. He teaches Yoga in the form of Yogeshwaras like Dattatreya, etc.
Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran (8.14.9)
In the form of Prajapatis like Marichi, etc., he expands creation. In the form of an emperor, he kills robbers. And in the form of time, by assuming various qualities like cold and hot, he leads everyone towards destruction.

Living beings' intellects get confused due to the illusion of name and form. That is why they sing the glory of God through various philosophical scriptures, but cannot know His real form.

Parikshit! In this way, I have told you the extent of Mahakalpa and Avantara Kalpa. The scholars of Puranatattva have told fourteen Manvantaras in each Avantara Kalpa.
