The Panchasakhas (five Saints) wrote the Bhavishya Malika under the instructions of Lord Vishnu. This scripture primarily describes the signs of social, physical, and geographical changes that will occur at the end of Kaliyuga. Many predictions were made 600 years ago and have come true.
The Kaliyuga has already ended, and this period is the transition phase before Satya Yuga. Many signs are discussed in Bhavishya Malika, which will mark the end of Kaliyuga and the arrival of Kalki Avatar.
In this article, we will discuss various signs and references to the end of Kaliyuga and how they relate to Bhavishya Malika. After reading this, you will know whether Kaliyuga has ended or not, and what are the proofs from the Jagannath temple of ending.
Predictions for the King of Puri in the Bhavishya Malika
The King of Puri, Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deva IV, is the traditional ruler and chief servant of Lord Jagannath, and he plays a crucial role in the religious and cultural affairs of the Jagannath Temple in Odisha.

“Divya Singh anke babu sarb dekhibu,
chhadi chhaka galuu boli nischay janibu
nar balut rupare aamkhe janmibu।” - Gupt Gyan, Achyutananda Das ji
According to the tradition of King Indradyumna in the Jagannath region, different kings were in charge of the area at other times. Achyutananda Das
mentions that when Dibyasingha Deva IV takes charge, 5,000 years of the Kaliyuga will have passed, and that will be the time when Lord Jagannath will take the Kalki Avatar
in a human body, and work towards establishing righteousness.

“Purva Bhanu Aba Pashchimen Jib Achyut Bachan Aan Nohib
Parvat Shikhare Phutib Kain Achyut Bachan Mithya Nuhai
Thu L Sunyaku Mu Karin Aas Thike Bhanile Shri Achyut Das” - Achyutananda Das ji, Asta Gujjari
That is, by declaring the sanctity and truth of the Bhavishya Malika, Achyutanandaji says, "The sun may rise in the west and the lotus may bloom on top of the mountain, but the words I wrote will never be proven wrong."
Second Prediction
“Divya Keshari Raja Hoib Tebe Kaliyuga Sarib
Chaturtha Divya Singh Thiba Se Kaale Kaliyuga Thiba" - Achyutananda Das, Bhavishya Malika
Achyutananda Das wrote that when Dibyasingha Deva IV
is present in Shri Kshetra, Satya Yuga will start even before the end of Kaliyuga, but it will have no effect. It will come into effect gradually over time through transformation.
Third Prediction
“Purushottam Deb Rajank Tharu Unbeens Raja Hebe Setharu
Unbeens Raja Pare Raja Nanhi Aau Akuli Hoibe Kulku Bohu” - Jagannatha Das
In the above verse, it is written that the first king of this region will be Purushottam Dev. Nineteen kings, including Purushottam Dev, will be responsible for governing the puri.
At present, Malika's words are coming true, and Dibyasingha Deva IV is the 19th king, which means he is the last one. He also has no sons, and today, the Lord's devotees are getting proof after 600 years.
Signs from Jagannath Temple Indicating the End of Kaliyuga
After 5,000 years of Kaliyuga, Panchasakhas
told to remove the doubts from their minds of the devotees that, as per the will of the Lord, various signs will appear through which the devotees will get to know about the end of Kaliyuga and the incarnation of Lord Kalki.
Falling of Stones in Jagannath Temple
“Chulru Pathar Jebe Khasib Soot
Khasile Anla Bedha Ru Heb E Kali Hat” - Achyutananda Das, Bhavishya Malika
He wrote to inform the devotees that a stone falling from the main temple would signal the end of the Kaliyuga. These words have since been proven true.
On June 16, 1990, a stone fell from the Amla Bedha, and the Union Budget Department formed a committee to investigate the incident. However, to this day, scientists have been unable to determine where and how such a massive stone (weighing over 1 ton) fell.
Falling of Lime Coating in Jagannath Temple
It is mentioned in the Bhavishya Malika book 'Garuda Samvad' that one day, the Lord's chief devotee, Garuda, asked Mahaprabhu, 'Lord, you have incarnated in all four yugas(ages), and at the end of Kaliyuga, you will take the Kalki Avatar. At that time, your devotees from all four ages will unite.
When you leave Neelachal and, from Daru-Brahma, become Saakar Brahma, what signs will the devotees see from Vaikuntha that will convince them the time for your Kalki Avatar has arrived so that they may follow the Malika and receive your blessings?
“Bad deul ku aapne jebe tejya karibe
Ki ki sanket dekhile mane pratyē hoibe” - Achyutananda Das, Bhavishya Malika
The meaning of the above verse is that when the Lord leaves the Jagannath region, the devotees will get a sign and believe it only after seeing it.
Then Lord Shri Krishna said-
“Garud mukhku chāhiṇ kahuchanti Achyut,
Kshetra re rahibe Anant Bimala Loknath”
In this verse, the Lord tells Garuda, 'When I leave Neelachal, my elder brother Balarama will take charge of the Neelachal region and become the Ruler. Goddess Vimala and Lord will remain in that region, but I will take birth in human form.'
Garuda then asked, 'What will be the first sign so that the devotees can read the Bhavishya Malika and understand that you have left Neelachal?
Again, Achyutananda Das described -
“Deul ru chun chadib, chakra bakra hoib
Mahalīā hoib Bhārata anka kaṭāu thib”
When the lime coating on the Jagannath temple begins to fall off (i.e., the lime starts peeling away), the Neel Chakra on top of the temple will become slightly crooked. At that time, India's economic condition will not be favourable.
When this happened, the Prime Minister was Chandrashekhar, who mortgaged 3,000 tons of gold to address India's monetary shortage. India improved its economic condition by adopting a defensive economic approach.
The above line from the Bhavishya Malika proves that the predictions made by the great Achyutananda 600 years ago have been fulfilled.
Vulture Sitting on the Arun Pillar of the Temple
Shri Krishna tells about the second sign-
“Bad deul ru pathar jebe khasib pun
Gridhra pakshi je basib arun r stambhena“
This verse means that when the stone falls from Amla Bedha, a vulture will sit on the Arun (Sun's son Arun) pillar. This was proved accurate, and when the stone fell from Amla Bedha, the vulture sat on the Arun pillar.
According to our classical tradition, if a vulture sits in a house, it is a sign of impending trouble for the people living there. Similarly, seeing a vulture sitting on the Arun pillar is a sign of a big problem for the world. This is considered the first sign of the end of Kaliyuga and the establishment of religion.
That is, Garudaji asks, 'Lord, when you incarnate on earth in the form of the Kalki Avatar, where will I be able to meet you, and how will I get to see you and dedicate myself to your service?'
He replied, 'O Garuda, I will meet you where there is the auspicious pillar of Brahma, which is considered to be the Sun pillar of the Earth and which is called the centre of the Earth.' Achyutananda mentions in 'Hari Arjun Chautisa' about the end of Kaliyuga, the birth of Lord Kalki, and other signs found in the Srimandir.
Umbrella on the Throne Catching Fire and Bending of Neelchakra
“Neelachal chhaadi aambhe jibu jetebele
Laagiba ratna chaandua agni sete bele
Nisha kaale mandirru chori heb hele
Bad deulumohar khasib pathar
Basib je gridhra pakshi arun stambhara
Bataas re bakra heb neelachakra mor” - Kaliyuga Geeta, Achyutananda Das
In the above verses, it has been clarified that 'When I leave Neelachal, the jewelled umbrella on top of my jewelled throne will catch fire, there will be theft in the premises of my temple at midnight, and stones will fall.
Due to the storm, the Neel Chakra will bend and become crooked. The vulture bird will sit on my Arun pillar.' All these things have happened, and Malika's words have ultimately come true. This is a sign of the end of Kaliyuga.
Treasury in Temple Losing its Wealth and Fame
Then in the second chapter of 'Kaliyuga Geeta it is written-
“Munhi neelachal chhaadi jibi ho Arjun
Mohar bhandaar ghare thiba jete dhan
Taanhire kalanki lagi jiba kshay hoi
Mohar sevak maane baatare na thaai” - Kaliyuga Geeta, Achyutananda Das
In the above verses, Arjuna asks Lord Krishna, 'When you leave Neelachal, what signs will be visible from Srikshetra? Please tell me about them.' Lord Krishna answers, 'Arjuna, when I leave Neelachal, the treasury situated within the premises of my temple will lose its fame.
This means that the wealth in the treasury, i.e., the storehouse, will be destroyed, and the servants in charge of the treasury will fail to follow righteousness.
As Achyutanandaji describes in the second chapter of 'Kaliyuga Geeta'-
“Bahut anyaay kari arjibi dhan
Taanhire taahank duḥkh nohib mochan
Khaibaaku namiliba kichhi na antiba
Mohar baṛapandānkū ann na miliba
Mohar baṛ deūlu khasib patthar
Shrīkṣetra rājan mor nasebi payar
Rājya jiba nānā duḥkh pāiba ṭī sei
Tānku mānya na kariba anya rājā kehi”
When I leave Neelachal, Kaliyuga will end. As soon as I go, there will be a lot of injustice in my area. The councillors under me will earn money by doing various kinds of injustice, and in the coming times, my head servants will not be able to maintain themselves properly.' Many such changes will take place.
Lightning Strike in the Temple's Kitchen
The great man Achyutananda has mentioned another sign from the Jagannath region in Malika-
“Pejanala phuṭī tor paḍiba bijulī
Se juge jibi ki prabhu neelanchal chhaḍi”
When lightning strikes the kitchen, Kaliyuga will end, and Lord Jagannath will leave Neelachal and take human form. This has also happened.
Breaking of the Branch of Kalpavat
“Se baṭ mulare Arjun jehu basib daṇḍe
Mṛtyu samaye na paḍiba yam rājar daṇḍe
Se baṭ mohar bigrah janhu hele āghāt
Mote baṛā bādhā lāgāi suṇ maghbāsūt
Se baṭ ru khaṇḍe bakal jehu deb chaṛāi
Mohar charm chaṛāilā pari jñānt huai” - Achyutananda Das, Chaushthi Patal
Kalpavat is compared to the body of God, and God's body suffers greatly if even a tiny piece of Kalpavat is broken. Today, the branch of Kalpavat is breaking again and again. According to Malika's words, if the branch of Kalpavat breaks, then God has left Neelachal and taken the Kalki Avatar.
“Kalpabaṭ ghāt heb jetebele
Neelachal chhaṛi jibe Madan Gopāle
Kalpabaṭ śākhā chiṛi paḍiba se kāle
Nānā akarma mān heb kṣetrabare
Rūdra ṭhāru unaviṁśa paryanta seṭhāre
Sthāpanā hoibe mor sevādī bhābare
Baṛ deūlare munhi narahibi bīr
Bāhār hoibi dekhi nara atyācār” - Achyutananda Das, Chaushthi Patal
It is mentioned in the above lines that at the end of Kali Yuga, when the Kalpavat branch breaks, a lot of injustice, immorality, indiscipline, and anarchy will spread in my area.
At this time, Lord Jagannath, seeing the atrocities of humans, will leave the temple and take a human body. The government will appoint new servants to take charge of the temple between the ages of 11 and 19, in honour of Lord Kalki. The words of the Malika have come true today.
Vulture Sitting on Neel Chakra and Burying of Mahaprasad
Again, Achyutananda describes that-
“Baṛ deūlu mohar patthar khasib
Gridhra pakṣī nīl cakra upare basib
Dine dine chalu re mu na hoibi dṛśya
Bhoga sabu potā heb jāna pāṇḍu śiṣya
Samudra juār māḍi āsībā nikṭe
Rakṣyā nakaribe kehi prāṇīṅku saṅkaṭe”
When a vulture sits on the Neelchakra, stones will fall repeatedly from the temple. At that time, Lord Jagannath will not appear in the offering of Mahaprasad. Many times, the Mahaprasad will be buried under the soil.
This can be inferred from the fact that, according to the temple tradition
When Mahaprasad is offered to Lord Jagannath, He appears to the chief priest, who provides the Mahaprasad.
This will all happen at the end of Kaliyuga. Therefore, being a kind-hearted saint, he warned the people of Kaliyuga that they should undergo a mental change; they should be utterly devoted to the Lord and give up other vices, including eating non-vegetarian food.
The great man has again been described in this context-
“Śrī dhāmaru ek baṛa pāṣāṇa khasib
Dibasare ullūk tāra upare basib
Mo bhubane ulkāpāt heb ghan ghan
Jeu sabu aṭe bābū amaṅgala cihna”
The great man said that a big stone would fall from the main temple of Shri Jagannathji, and an owl would sit on the stone during the daytime. Both these signs have already happened in the temple. In the future, meteorites will fall repeatedly, as we know from many texts written.
Conclusion
The signs provided by Jagannath Culture and Bhavishya Malika regarding the end of Kaliyuga emphasise the transformative nature of this era and the spiritual actions necessary to navigate it.
Bhavishya Malika highlights the unparalleled importance of Trisandhya
and chanting the 'Madhav' name, stating that it is the only way to achieve salvation during these times.
By recognising these predictions, individuals can prepare spiritually, ensuring their path to liberation and a harmonious transition into Satya Yuga.
