The message of the Bhavishya Malika is not to create fear, but to awaken us and guide us towards truth, righteousness, and inner strength. This scripture reveals many hidden truths about the difficult times ahead. It guides that chanting the name "Madhav" is a powerful path to protection and salvation.
Why chant "Madhav"?
According to Bhavishya Malika, with the arrival of the Kalki Avatar, chaos and unrighteousness will come to an end, and truth and justice will be restored. The Lord will incarnate with the name "Madhav" to establish righteousness.
The scriptures mention a conversation between Goddess Durga and Lord Shri Krishna. In Dwapara Yuga (Bronze Age), when the Lord incarnated as Krishna to protect righteousness, the Goddess wished that his name should be "Madhav." However, the name given was "Krishna." When the Goddess asked him about this, the Lord replied that at the end of Kaliyuga, when he appears as the Kalki Avatar, he will be known as "Madhav."
That will be his true identity, and through that form, he will uplift and liberate souls. It is also worth noting that Mother Kunti, Draupadi, and Lord Krishna's dear friend Arjuna used to address him as "Madhav", even though his actual name was Krishna.
Importance of Name Chanting According to the Scriptures
Name chanting holds immense importance. It is one of the nine forms of devotion (Navadha Bhakti) and is regarded as a supreme spiritual practice in all scriptures.

"Kaliyug keval naam adhaara, sumir sumir nar utarahin paara" - Tulsidas Ramcharitmanas
In Kaliyuga, chanting the divine name of the Lord is the simplest and most effective path to liberation from the cycle of birth and death. In this age, penance, yoga, and other difficult practices are less effective than they were in the past, while chanting the Lord's name is considered the most powerful and highest spiritual practice.

“Sāṅketyaṁ pārihāsyaṁ vā stobhaṁ helanam eva vā
Vaikuṇṭha-nāma-grahaṇam aśeṣāgha-haraṁ viduḥ” - Bhagavat Mahapurana, Skandha 6, Chapter 2, verse 14
That means a person who chants the holy name of the Lord becomes instantly free from the results of countless sins, even if it is chanted indirectly, jokingly, for musical entertainment, or carelessly. All scholars of the scriptures have accepted this truth.

“Tāra madhye sarvaśreṣṭha nāma-saṅkīrtana
Nirāparādhe nāma lele pāya prema-dhana” - Chaitanya Charitamrita, Antya Lila, 4.71
That means, chanting the holy name of the Lord continuously is the most important among the nine forms of devotion. One who does not engage in any evil deeds and regularly chants attains love for God.

The supreme name of this time is "Madhav"
One of the verses in the Bhavishya Malika states -
“Aṣṭa bāhu re je aṣṭa āyudha,
Kali śeṣe janama hebe Mādhaba
Mādhaba nāma ku jehuṁ japa’i,
Janama maraṇa ta tāhāra nāhi” - Bhavishya Malika
The Panchasakha, in a verse from their Malika scripture, writes that at the end of Kaliyuga (the present time), Lord Mahavishnu will be born as the Kalki Avatar with the name "Madhav." They further mention that those who continuously chant this during the transitional period between Kaliyuga and Satya Yuga will attain salvation.
What is Ekaakshar Mantra in the Bhavishya Malika?
According to the Bhavishya Malika, "Madhav" is the Brahma Ekaakshar (Mantra for salvation), and this is confirmed through various verses found in the scripture.
Some verses from the Bhavishya Malika
“Sehi Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa pāibā pāiṁ, nārī rūpa hue bhakta dehī
Ātmaku bhakta nārī rūpare, samarpaṇa kare Kṛṣṇa payare
Sehi mantra goṭi nitya bhajili, nitya Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa sebā pāili” – Kalpatika, Page 82
To attain the divine, unified form of Radha and Krishna, the Lord's highest devotees adopt a deep sense of spiritual femininity and lovingly offer their souls at the feet of Lord Shri Krishna. Through the regular chanting of this Ekaakshar Mantra, the devotee receives the eternal blessing of serving Radha and Krishna.
How is "Madhav" considered an Ekaakshar?
According to the Bhavishya Malika, "Madhav" is declared the Ekaakshar Mantra holding the essence of the Supreme Lord. It is not just a name, but a divine blessing that carries the power of liberation and eternal connection with the Lord. This is a complete mantra in itself.
Name chanting is the most powerful path of devotion, and there can be no more excellent example of this than Lord Hanuman, the devoted servant of Lord Ram. Through the chanting of "Ram", he reached the highest peak of devotion and is worshipped by many people.
Name Chanting for Pure Heart, Faith, and Detachment
It is essential to understand the three elements: a pure heart, faith, and detachment, so that it becomes clear how these qualities can help us to attain God.
Pure Heart
The realisation of God is only possible when our heart is completely pure. If the mind is filled with impurities like ego, anger, greed, and attachment, receiving the Lord's grace becomes difficult. But when we regularly chant the divine name, the negativity hidden within us gradually begins to dissolve.
This process is similar to how the pure flow of a river washes away all the dirt. Chanting "Madhav" calms the mind, makes it simple and free of dishonesty, and prepares us to become worthy of the Lord's presence.
Faith
Faith is the seed from which the tree of devotion grows. Without faith, no spiritual practice can truly bear fruit. Many people doubt the existence of God or engage in devotion only for worldly benefits, but true faith is that which is selfless and unshakable.
Chanting the name "Madhav" naturally strengthens our faith. When a devotee chants this regularly, they begin to experience divine miracles. These experiences make their faith even stronger and encourage them to walk firmly on the spiritual path.
Detachment
We don't need to give up everything we have in the world. Vairagya (detachment) is a state of mind in which a person sets aside temporary worldly pleasures and moves toward eternal bliss(God).
By chanting "Madhav" regularly, this feeling of detachment gradually awakens within us. As a person repeats the name "Madhav" again and again, their attachment to worldly things shifts away and turns toward God.

But in the future, 64 types of dangerous pandemics will spread, for which there will be no vaccines or effective treatments. How can we chant unconsciously?
Initially, a devotee has to make an effort to chant. This is the initial stage, where focusing the mind feels difficult. But with regular practice, the mind slowly begins to settle.
Gradually, as the devotee chants regularly, their heart and mind start to immerse in the name. At this point, chanting is no longer just a practice—it becomes an inseparable part of life.
Finally, in the Ajapa state, the chanting begins to happen of its own accord. This is called Ajapa Japa, where the mind constantly echoes with the name, effortlessly and without pause.
