It is mentioned that after 2500 Years of Kaliyuga, it was considered a terrible Kaliyuga.
When people deviate from the path of Scripture, hypocrisy is evident everywhere; it is a terrible Kaliyuga. It happened at that time. Nothing was left of truth, penance, thinking (purity from outside and inside), charity, mercy, etc.
