Lord Mahavishnu saved Mother Earth by taking 24 incarnations in the four yugas. Out of these, 10 are prominent incarnations of establishing righteousness, which are praised in this stotra (hymn of praise).
Those who sing the verses of these ten incarnations daily through Trisandhya are saved from worldly, physical, and family problems. They attain the rare supreme position of human life, Moksha (ultimate salvation).
English Translation of Shri Dasavatara Stotra
O Lord of the Universe! Just as a boat gladly rescues any object situated in water without any regret, similarly, you, with pure character, without any effort, incarnated in the form of a fish in the deluge ocean, rescued the Vedas(scriptures) by holding them. O Lord of the Matsya(fish) incarnation! Victory to you. ॥1॥
O Keshinisudan! O Jagadish! You have adopted the form of a tortoise and have held the earth in one part of your huge back, due to which your back is adorned with the marks of it. Victory to you. ॥2॥
O Jagadish! O Keshav! Just as the moon appears in its combined form and the blemish inside it, the earth is situated on your teeth similarly. ॥3॥
O Lord of the Universe! O Hare! O Keshav! You have assumed the form of Narasimha. In your great hand is present a wonderful horn in the form of a nail, with which you have torn Hiranyakshipu's body like a bumblebee tears apart a flower. Victory to you. ॥4॥
O Lord of the entire universe! O Hare! O Keshav! You have taken the form of Vaman and are depriving King Bali by begging for three steps of land. This world has been purified by the water from your foot-nails. Oh,h wonderful Vaman Deva! Victory to you. ॥5॥
O Jagadish! O Hare! O Keshinisudan! You have taken the form of Bhrigu (Parashuram) and destroyed the Kshatriya clan, purified the world with their blood-filled water, and removed the sorrows of the world. O Lord of the Bhrigu, victory to you. ॥6॥
Lord of the universe! O Hare! O Keshinisudan! Taking the form of Rama, you are distributing the crown-adorned heads of the beautiful and very charming Ravana to all directions, as a sacrifice to Indra and other gods. O Ramaswaroop (the one who worships the Lord of the world)! Victory to you. ॥7॥
O Lord of the world! O Keshinisudan! O Hare! You have taken the form of Baldev (the God of the world), having become very fair-skinned, and have worn blue clothes resembling the beauty of new clouds. It seems as if Yamuna, frightened by your light attack, has hidden herself in your clothes. O Haldharswaroop (the one who holds the plough), victory to you. ॥8॥
Jagadishwar! O Hare! O Keshinisudan! Taking the form of Buddha, being kind and compassionate, you have condemned the Shruti community after seeing the violence against animals through the yagya rituals. Victory to you. ॥9॥
O Jagadishwar (the one who worships the Lord of the world), O Keshinisudan! You assumed the form of Kalki and destroyed the Mlechchas, wielding a sword as fierce as a comet. Glory to you ॥10॥
Oh, Jagdishwar! O Shri Hare! Hey Keshinisudan! Oh God, who assumes tenfold forms! You listen to me, the generous poet Jaidev, who is the essence of the world, happy and auspicious, sing in praise of me. ॥11॥
